Our Expertise Banking Banking Disputes
Banking Disputes:   News     Events     Publications     People     Offices     Links     FAQs

Our contentious Banking team has expertise in dealing with all major aspects of banking litigation, including inter-bank disputes and disputes between borrower and lender. We specialise in advising on priority issues between co-lenders. We also have considerable expertise in dealing with claims against fraud, credit and fidelity policies on behalf of financiers.

In an environment where financing transactions are becoming increasingly complex and there are a multiplicity of lenders involved in any particular transaction, disputes are occurring with greater frequency. We therefore deliver an essential service to enable disputes to be resolved quickly, whilst maintaining the degree of co-operation necessary to ensure that the objectives of the deal are unaffected by the dispute.

The members of our team have an excellent understanding of the issues which may arise in this context and are able to offer cost effective and user friendly solutions, including forms of alternative dispute resolution if appropriate. The firm is at the forefront of alternative dispute resolution and in June 2004 won the CEDR Award for Excellence in ADR for the third time running.

We also have specialist lawyers who can advise on complicated issues of security or the enforcing of bills of exchange or promissory notes, as well as set off and third party claims.

This work is handled in all our UK offices.  Our cross-jurisdiction capacity is delivered by our specialists in Berlin, Paris and Turin*.
